BLE: Recipe for handling BLE pairing with ESP32 acting as a peripheral

I'm studying how to make the BLE be a peripheral to controllers. I'm testing with Android phones and a Chrome book. I have placed my ESP32 into a BLE advertising state and the controller devices seem to be able to see the ESP32 (BLE) device just fine. When I try and pair, I see the following events ...

Re: Duration of BLE scan

The way I interpret this story is as follows: scan_window - The interval of time during which a scan will be performed. scan_interval - The interval of time between actual scans of duration defined in scan_window duration - The interval of time over which total scanning will be performed before scan...

Re: Virtual File System and "directory listing"

@ESP_igrr, Can you elaborate on the last post? I can imagine that I want to use just one file system implementation in a solution (eg. FatFS). Rather than mount it at: /myfs I believe I would want to mount it at "/" The thinking here is that since I know I have only one file system, why *n...

Re: Virtual File System and "directory listing"

There is an issue flagged as "in progress" that seems to prevent using opendir() on a mount point path ... see: https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/issues/664 There was also an issue on the notion of mounting at "/" itself ... so a file system listing of "/" downwards ...

Re: Deep sleep with AWS IOT

Stack overflow errors can be caused by not allocating sufficient stack space when the task is created. Have a look at the following video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zxU9uAifMI

It may be that the resolution is as simple as allocating more stack space for your task.

Re: get ip using gethostbyname

DNS doesn't have the ability to resolve dynamically added hosts. Think of DNS like a database that maps host names and the domains they live within to IP addresses. When you configure DNS on the ESP32, you point to a DNS server that will perform the database resolution for you. When you create a new...

Re: how to reset the ccount register?

Its possible you can't. I would also be nervous about re-setting its value even if we could. The ccount is a high speed register that I take to mean that it constantly increments. It is also a "global" (being a CPU register). There may be logic that has recorded the current value and is us...

Re: duration in rmt_item32_t Uint32 or int16 ?

I think the high level answer is neither 16 or 32 bit :-) ... With RMT, one defines the signal level (1 or 0) and a duration. This is encoded in a 16 bit value .... so we have 1 bit for the level and 15 bits for the duration. This gives us a maximum duration of 32767. Each RMT "element" co...
