How to specify path for partition table

Hi, I've got a custom partition table that has some differences from the default single app one. I've indicated that I'm using a custom partition table in the menuconfig and left the filename as "partitions.csv". For now I've put the file in the project root but ideally I'd put it somewhere else. Wh...

Setting custom sdkconfig path causes issues

Hi, Using the config menu I've set a custom location for the sdkconfig file to manage it a bit more easily with version control. My project is structured using cmake so otherwise it would only exist in the build folder. Sometimes to ensure a clean build I'll delete the build folder and create a new ...

Re: GDB Debugging not working with cmake/idf_as_lib example project

Found something! Apparently when setting up a project this way you'll need to specify all the compile options in the cmake files. Eg. target_compile_options(myTarget PRIVATE -g) That way main and other non-IDF files are also compiled with debug symbols. My assumption was that all files were compiled...

GDB Debugging not working with cmake/idf_as_lib example project

Hi, I've been working to set my project up using more vanilla cmake as in the idf_as_lib example (examples/build_system/cmake/idf_as_lib). However, I found that when doing this the GDB debugger doesn't advance far enough and will get stuck at something like Hardware assisted breakpoint 1 at 0x400d0a...

Re: Building CMake project without idf.py

Including idf.cmake instead of project.cmake was my main problem.
Looking at those example projects and the build scripts helped me solve the other ones.

Thanks!

Building CMake project without idf.py

Hi, I'm attempting to build a project using the esp-idf. I've been using the idf.py script and the idf_component_register functions and that has worked however I'd like to switch to pure cmake to make debugging my own cmake files easier and to reduce the amount of 'magic' in the system a little bit....
