Re: Clone running firmware over mesh

I can't use ESP-MDF as it doesn't have chain topology support, and I need to be able to do up to 100 ESP's in a chain. That being said, mupgrade is pretty well explained, so that is the route I'm working on atm, send over everything and use partition_write, then check over and request any missing pi...

Re: Clone running firmware over mesh

After some more checking it seems some of my packets are being dropped in the mesh, so once I sort that out the problem might resolve itself - any tips here are welcome:)

Clone running firmware over mesh

Hi, I am developing a device that communicates over mesh, and where the root device only has a cellular card for communicating with the internet. I am currently trying to implement OTA updates on the model that the root device performs OTA for itself via cellular, and then turns off the cellular con...

Re: Separating different types of IDF-MESH packets

I ended up using the mesh_data_t.proto member for this, as it seems to be a "passive" flag only - at least if I'm only communicating ESP to ESP (my mesh is not internet connected).

Separating different types of IDF-MESH packets

Hi, I'm trying to create several types of mesh packets, but I am having some trouble on how to separate them. Is it possible to use the mesh_opt_t structure for this? It does not seem very well documented. My goal is to send different types of packets (status, OTA etc.), then in the read function I ...

Re: ESP-MESH without a router

I did figure this out, although I rewrote my whole program from scratch, so I'm a little bit unsure what the problem was.

I think I didn't successfully set esp_mesh_set_self_organized on the root node in the old program.

Re: Chain topology in ESP-MDF?

The reason for chain in my case is I need to support longer chains, up to maybe 150 nodes spanning a considerable distance. ESP-IDF does this, but I have tried every which way to make it send/receive without a router, but with no luck - I was hoping I could do chain in ESP-MDF as that has a mesh exa...

Chain topology in ESP-MDF?

Is chain topology available in ESP-MDF?

I have been using ESP-IDF mesh so far because I need the recently introduced chain mode for my application.

ESP-MESH without a router

Hi, I am trying to set up a WiFi MESH-network without a router (root node will transmit information via onboard 4G), and I am using ESP-IDF to support chain topology. I have managed to make the mesh connect nicely, nodes are recognized and the root is set based on external criteria (currently just a...
