Re: Example of using Queue to pass strings between tasks

A queue actually is made for items with a defined length; if you throw in strings it'll waste a bunch of memory. Maybe you want to look at the ringbuffer implementation (in components/freertos/ringbuf.c and components/freertos/include/freertos/ringbuf.h) instead? Unfortunately, I also do not have an...

Re: Timer group performance

I'm actually working on porting some ancient code I have from back when the ESP32 was no more than a config file for an FPGA to the current ESP-IDF/hardware. Should be done this week, if I'm not interrupted by other things. I'll post the result here if I have something at least slightly working.

Re: ESP32 Wroom error 0x1f

Have you actually managed to flash something to the module? It may be that the flash is still empty. Also, the flash is connected to most of the pads on the bottom (as in: opposite side from the antenna) of the module: if you accidentally short or ground those, you're also likely to get an error lik...

Re: Program compiled with Arduino-ESP32 runs noticeably faster than the same thing on ESP-IDF - why?

Could it perhaps be because the clock frequency actually is different? Not sure how you set it in the arduino environment, but in esp-idf, you can set it using 'make menuconfig' and by default it is set to 160MHz.

Re: region `dram0_0_seg' overflowed

You can look at build/[your-project-name].map to see what the memory use is. The file is kind-of dense, but it gives your all the info you should need. In your case, dram0.bss is too big, so search for the line that starts with '.dram0.bss'. Here, you'll find all variables that are stashed in this r...

Re: How to enable I2S0 MCLK output via GPIO0

Sure, but WS and BCLK are an order of magnitude slower than the MCLK signal. Can you show me these signals on the same scope setup? I'm still not sure your noise comes fromt he ESP32 and not your setup; it looks distinctly analog and rlc-based to me.

Re: Where can I purchase high quality ESP32 development boards with the most recent version of silicon (rev 1, I believe

I think, then, that this is a good point in time to close this thread. Everyone seems to have been able to make their point here and I believe most if not all qualifying ESP32 development boards have been mentioned, so I would say the original question has been answered to close to the largest exten...

Re: How to feed task watchdog from asynchronous code such as a BLE task?

'Unable to feed task watchdog'? Is this a literal quote?

If you mean that the task watchdog times out on your idle task, it is normally because you have one thread that hogs the CPU, not allowing other tasks (specifically, the idle task, which is watched by the task watchdog) to run.

Re: ESP32-LyraT -- Wireless Audio & AI

We will be releasing it eventually, but don't expect it within days - last thing I heard there were still some minor kinks to be worked out of the board.
