Re: Maximum addressable memory expansion available

You are more-or-less right. If I recall correctly, we can actually have some more psram (up to 8MiB or so) but it cannot all be mapped into memory at the same time, and as it'd become quite difficult to use, we have no plans to add functionality for this to esp-idf.

No, sorry, the PID system is more-or-less untested at the moment.

Re: how to transmit video via tcp/ip

Hmm, 320*480*30fps*16bit is almost 80MBit/second... that's a fairly hefty data stream. I'm actually not even sure if the SPI bus is fast enough to handle this (unless you go for quad-spi) and I'm pretty sure you will not be able to maintain an 80MBit/sec stream in real WiFi circumstances.

Re: How to measure pulse width on an HC-SR04

I'm pretty sure you can use the RMT peripheral for that. The MCPWM block may also have a capture mode that allows you to capture pulse lengths, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Re: how to transmit video via tcp/ip

Can't say. If you want to encode and transfer full-HD video, there's no way that's going to work. If you need to transmit e.g. an 80x80 image from a thermal camera, it's going to be pretty easy. We'd need to know a bit more about your intended setup and the specs of your input and output streams.

Re: SPI DMA and interrupts...

You're using 'done with the transfer' and 'completion' here as if there's a difference between them; I'm not sure we all are getting what you mean there. Could you elaborate a bit on what you're trying to do, to make us understand what you want a bit better?

Re: ESP32-D2WD set GPIO17-U2TXD output 1

Because the internal flash in the D2WD is connected to different pads. It's a physical thing, if I recall correctly; the flash and ESP32 still are two separate dies and are connected using bond wires. However, you cannot make those too long or cross them, so we had to use some slightly different GPI...

Re: wifi error code

Well, if any, the fact that your application crashes and burns in a store error points at a likely memory corruption issues. I'd look into that first if I were you.
