Re: C++ Constructors (other than in main.cpp)

You can use the same line inside component.mk of the main component. Then you can keep all the pluggable modules inside main component and they will be linked into the application. We don't do this by default for the main component mostly for consistency — main component is no different from the oth...

Re: C++ Constructors (other than in main.cpp)

Here's the thing we do for all our unit test components. Since they are never referenced from the test runner directly and rely on constructor attribute, we need to use -Wl,--whole-archive option for them: https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/blob/master/components/cxx/test/component.mk#L1 (same in ...

Re: CMake / CLion

We don't have plans for CMake support, but we can help with compilation issues you are seeing. Can you attach compiler output and the test program which CMake is trying to compile?

Re: ESP32 debug Eclipse+OpenOCD+JLink issue

Warn : esp32.cpu0: Failed writing 4096 bytes at address 0x3F400010 Based on this part of the log, I would say that Eclipse is not configured properly, as it is trying to instruct GDB to load the elf file into the ESP32. This will not work because the OpenOCD version currently available is not able ...

Re: [info] ESP32-PRO - a combine with PIC32 ( USB OTG, USB Device )

\I don't really see a reason to not use wrover module on this board (besides the fact they still aren't shipping yet). They may be able to achieve tighter layout without the module. Not sure what their assembly costs are (so no clue if it's a win or loss in that respect). OTOH they possibly need to...

Re: Increasing UPD Wifi performance

We have a document about WiFi driver in preparation, it will have some information on achievable throughput. 130Mbps can be achieved by passing packets directly to WiFi driver (i.e. without the overhead of LwIP stack), and with testing being performed inside a shield box. Maximum UDP throughput (TX ...

Re: make flash errors

Are you starting mingw32 or msys2 prompt?
It should be mingw32 in order to use Windows port names.

Re: Does wifi connection take too long?

Are you setting AP's channel in your wifi_config_t structure? components/esp32/include/esp_wifi_types.h#L166 As far as I know, on the ESP8266 APs channel number is stored in flash by the SDK. On the ESP32 we don't do this by default, but you have all the pieces to implement this (perform scan, get A...
