Re: Writing to flash encrypted NVS storage during manufacturing

At the moment, nvs doesn't support encrypted partitions. That's something we will be working on for the next version.

The easiest way to generate nvs data is to initialize the contents of nvs on one board, and dump the partition using esptool's read_flash command.

Re: Unstable partition API flashing functions

Thanks for the stack dump, this confirms what we thought is the cause of this. Could you please try adding this line into components/esp32/ld/esp32.common.ld, near line 88 (next to *libesp32.a:core_dump.o ): *libesp32.a:heap_alloc_caps.o(.literal .text .literal.* .text.*)

Re: its too slow to get IDF from github, is there any other solutions ?

We will start by providing a downloadable copy for the 2.0 release next week.
Based on the feedback, we will add downloadable releases for the master branch. Expect to see this in a couple of weeks.

You may run "pacman -S winpty" to fix this.

Hi q2222ch,
I have forwarded these questions to the documentation team. Will update this topic soon.

Hi tangqingcai,

Unfortunately we don't have any solution right now... But we do have a plan to provide a download mirror for IDF master branch and releases, hosted locally. Thank you for bringing up this issue.

Re: Can't get ESP32 WROOM to work with any example

The numbers look reasonable, and the point where the crash happens indicates that this issue is indeed caused by current spike during RF power calibration ( set_tx_gain_table ). There is a chance that there is a bad solder joint somewhere, or indeed the wires from the module to the voltage regulator...

Re: I2C SCL frequency 10% less than it should be at 400kHz

If you can point us to the code and a description of the setup (what kind of display we need to use), I'll pass this info along so that we can see if the hardware is generating invalid waveforms at some point.

Re: Deep sleep wake up time

We did some measurements here, and the time spent between deep sleep wakeup (triggered by the ULP, for example) and entry into app_main is around 230ms, with default flash settings (40MHz, DIO mode) and all kinds of debugging output disabled (per comment from Angus above).

Re: Multiple flash chips on same the SPI line

The current SPI driver supports using only SPI2 and SPI3 (HSPI and VSPI) peripherals. So you can connect an external flash chip, but not to the same lines which are used by the main flash chip.
