Re: Timer group performance

A few questions first: Have you tried running the code in single core mode? That is not the solution, but it would probably make it easier to see the whole situation in Systemview. Can you paste the line of code you are using in the panel refresh task to wait on panel_event_group? Is the panel refre...

Re: ESP-IDF binary size

These make targets might help:

make size - Display the static memory footprint of the app
make size-components, size-files - Finer-grained memory footprints

Re: Bug with core libraries

You may get more useful info if you disable GDBStub and leave just the default panic handler ("print registers and reboot" enabled).

Also, judging by the path you seem to be using BTStack... Are you able to reproduce the issue without it?

Re: GPIO13 overridden by SD card... which we desperately need

You can force the SD slot to be initialized in 1-bit mode (so that GPIO4 is not used by the peripheral): sdmmc_host_t host = SDMMC_HOST_DEFAULT(); // this tells SD host to keep using 1-line bus mode host.flags = SDMMC_HOST_FLAG_1BIT; sdmmc_slot_config_t slot_config = SDMMC_SLOT_CONFIG_DEFAULT(); // ...

Re: Bug with core libraries

This looks like a stack overflow (garbage in the PC value), or memory corruption. Could you please check whether you have the following stack overflow checking options enabled in menuconfig? 1. CONFIG_FREERTOS_CHECK_STACKOVERFLOW: http://esp-idf.readthedocs.io/en/latest/api-reference/kconfig.html#fr...

Re: ESP32 Wifi Station Modem Sleep Delay

This was (is) a feature which made its way from the ESP8266, which had cases of packet loss in modem sleep mode early on, which caused some cases of lost DHCP replies, which in turn caused longer times until IP was obtained. On the ESP32 it seems to be unnecessary. We do have a work in progress bran...

Re: Example sd card speed problem?

Which IDF version are you using? High speed mode support was added in IDF master branch in July, in commit 6baf8195 . If you are using ESP-IDF v2.1, high speed mode is not supported there, sorry. In IDF sdmmc driver, clock frequencies used for default speed and high speed mode are 20 and 40 MHz, res...

Re: Crash when waking up from light sleep

Thanks for the report again, i was able to reproduce the issue. We will have it fixed shortly. In the meantime, you may enable dual core mode as a workaround (the issue only happens in single core mode).
