I'm trying to setup an example project in VSCode using the ESP-IDF Extension and am having issues with the target chip

When I run: idf.py set-target esp32s3
I get this error: IDF_TARGET in CMake cache does not match IDF_TARGET environment variable.
To change the target, clear the build directory ...

I'm trying to setup an example project using the ESP32-S3-Mini-1 devkit. I setup the ESP IDF Extension in VSCode on Mac.

When I run
idf.py set-target esp32s3
