Re: No heap anymore after adding bluetooth in menuconfig

Thanks. For testing you can use esp-idf/examples/system/deep_sleep
If you are using AnalogLamb breakout board, don't forget to attach pullup resistors to EN & IO0 pins, they are missing on the board...

Re: No heap anymore after adding bluetooth in menuconfig

Ah thats why, I have the ALB32-WROVER. Guess I can use my current breakouts then. Thanks! Sorry for the post not related to this thread, but as you mentioned that you have ALB32-WROVER, I have an issue with the same module. I canno't exit the deep sleep. Tested with deepsleep example from esp-idf, ...

Wrower and Wroon has different footprint. There is also ALB32-WROVER which has the same footprint as ESP32-WROOM, but with 4MB psRAM included.

Re: No heap anymore after adding bluetooth in menuconfig

While I am also not aware of any breakout boards support WROVER... AnalogLam now has breakout board for ESP32-WROVER. It looks like it is sold without any component soldered. It would be good if AnalogLamb could release this board with all components (including ESP32-WROVER module) soldered, for th...

Re: No heap anymore after adding bluetooth in menuconfig

If your application needs a lot of heap, I would recommend using ESP32 with spiram . In small quantities you can get two modules from AnalogLamb , ALB32-WROVER and ESP32-WROVER. SPIRAM support is now included in latest esp-idf and xtensa toolchain, so there should be no problem using it. You will ha...

:!: Update: As of Sep 18, 2017 full support for psRAM is included into esp-idf and xtensa toolchain. Building with special versions of esp-idf and Xtensa toolchain is no longer needed. ⋅ Updated esp-idf and xtenssa toolchain to the latest version … ⋅ Building with psRAM support i...

Re: No heap anymore after adding bluetooth in menuconfig

Bluetooth, when enabled, uses a lot of memory. You can free ~30K by selecting → Component config → Bluetooth → Bluedroid Bluetooth stack enabled → Release DRAM from Classic BT controller if you are using BLE only.
If this is not enough, you will need to use ESP32 with psRAM...

RMT channel 0 with full 512x32-bit memory fails

I have an issue when using RMT channel 0 with 8 memory blocks (512x32-bit). The operation fails with "RMT EVT THRESH ERR" error. I think it is caused by the bug in rmt_set_tx_thr_intr_en function (esp-idf/components/driver/rmt.c) Here is the short analysis of the problem: mem_block_num con...

Re: PSRAM support status

I'm pleased to report that after pulling the latest commits from esp-idf master branch and Espressif toolchain 1.22.0-73-ge28a011-5.2.0 all my PSRAM tests passes without error. Even the complex application (MicroPython running with heap on SPIRAM) runs without error. The only feature still missing i...

This whole discussion does not make much sense. Then why are you engaging in this discussion? Feel free to disengage. It's a very amusing thread. :D To summarize: Leitukey: ⋅ I want to develop applications for ESP32, but I've never tried because I can't find the development board with ste...
