Re: DevkitC v4 app start problem when externaly powered?

Ok, finally found time to play back with this board: Problem solved thanks to krzychb! Thanks! So the problem was this capacitor C15 that is soldered parallel to BOOT button (I0). Of course I tried first all the possible variants with the groundings without any particular result. And by the way - th...

Any new certified modules coming soon?

Could you share some insider info if some new modules with form factor like TTGO Micro-32 (~ 13x19mm) coming soon? Micro-32 unfortunately doesnt come with any reliable information and CAD files, and seems it doesnt have any certifications too. And manufacturer dont bother to answer any questions reg...

Re: DevkitC v4 app start problem when externaly powered?

Sorry, I just realised I've provided wrong information in my initial post (already correct it) : The actual button that I need to press in order to start code running on DevkitC v4 when is externally powered is "EN"

Re: start project with a specific SDK version

If you want a stable release right now, use v2.1.1. And where is the v2.1.1. as on git https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/branches I see only release/v2.1 Is it the same? Also when I download the master branch - where in all the files that I downloaded I could check what version I actually downlo...

nvs_flash_init: why present in the template code and some other examples?

I tried removing/comment out nvs_flash_init() in the template example and smart_config example and it doesn't matter if present in the code or not - the log (in debug level) always shows that nvs is initialising and bunch of other nvs initializations going on, doesnt matter if nvs_flash_init() exist...

Where can see the source code for esp_wifi_connect and esp_wifi_restore

I observe some strange behavior (possible bug) if use esp_wifi_restore and then on wifi authentication fail and the log shows different output then if ommit esp_wifi_restore, so I'm looking for the source eventaully to trace the root cause of this when I see the logic there and which data structures...

esp_wifi_restore() bug or missing some prerequisites in the docs?

I've tried to implement the esp_wifi_restore() function and fail. To illustrate the problem will use a very basic example - the esp_template where I added TAG, 2 lines debug prints and 1 line for esp_wifi_restore(). static const char *TAG = "test"; esp_err_t event_handler(void *ctx, system_event_t *...

Re: Is there any Andoid or Windows app that can use to test the udp_perf example?

For all who eventually have or will have the same problem as myself - This is the example I used to build a server to test udp_perf example from the esp-idf framework. Android Datagram/UDP Server example Actually I didn't need to test performance - just connection and some simple data exchange, so t...

Re: What would you like to see in The Next Chip?

+ user's app available bootstarp GPIOs: I see in GPIO_STRAP_REG only 6 bits are taken - those for GPIO 0,2,4,15.. that are used by ESP32 "natively". The other 10 bits are not used (at least not documented). I know plenty of devices that use some config/setup or update procedures based on bootstrapin...
