I recommend anyone encountering the same issue check:

1. GPIO12 (MTDI) must be pulled up to power SDIO with 1.8V, it is already done internally in ESP32-WROVER. However if your board is pulling down that pin, it will power the internal SDIO LDO with 3.3V which will damage the PSRAM/SPI ...
