Might we as a community not choose to back/support/utilize an existing framework such as this one? This is more or less our long term plan, to have a package management system of some kind. It will need to be IDF-specific in some ways, but we want to leverage existing tools as much as possible. The...

right and full agreement Jeroen and Angus, So I see the third party as the best approach and solution for "expansion" too. Long term, we want to build some kind of package manager... That is precisely the aim here. We go a few steps further ( esp32IDE ) and put together to certain packages...

if you check example your WIN folder there was a mconf.exe build after you used ESP_IDF first time...

I would very appreciate some deeper information about some items where no information can be retrieved (when to choose (enabling/disabling) them, and which option and their aimed effect). menuconfig is likewise kernel menuconfig and your friend is lxdialog / dialog / xdialog and in ESP-IDF.. kconfi...
