Re: Esp32 ModbusMaster Arduino IDE

What does 'resultMain' say after the readHoldungRegisters call? Is the address you are attempting to read valid on your frequency inverter? Second, pins 0 and 14 look odd for the ESP32's UART2, especially the 0. I know of no ESP32 that has a serial line on pin 0, since that is used for boot etc. nor...

Re: [Solved] RMT collisions with UART?

The problem was the 433MHz receiver module, not the ESP32. The cheap receiver modules all are amplifying whatever they pick up to a level where they are "seeing" data signals. This is the reason why most 433MHz protocols are sending some lead bytes with a recognizable pattern to let the receivers ad...

[Solved] RMT collisions with UART?

Solution: see next post! Since the RMT reception problems I am experiencing always occur when some kind of UART communication is going on - either the Serial output to the PC via USB or display commands via UART2 to a Nextion HMI display - could there be any interference between RMT and UART? The R...

Re: "Noisy" USB connection?

Ough! Missed that bit! I thought that the ESP would do it like the Arduino boards and choose whatever power supply was most stable. Unfortunately even with just one power supply connected the issue is prevailing. In the meantime I found a receiver module that at least is generating data, but the sou...

Re: "Noisy" USB connection?

Another development: receiving 433MHz signals has completely ceased working now. The RMT reports status 0 - all fine -, but no signals are seen anymore. To sort out faulty components, I used different receiver modules, different GPIOs to connect and even moved the receiver to the 5V train with a lev...

Re: "Noisy" USB connection?

Things get odder and odder... I did several things to improve the supply trains - put in capacitors between 3.3v and GND, added a second GND connection to the DevkitC board, removed socket connections and soldered the modules directly to the board etc. Nothing changed the behaviour much, but when I ...

Re: "Noisy" USB connection?

Yes, the 5V supply stays connected all the time. All grounds on the main board are connected - is there a separate loop perhaps on the DevkitC board acting as an antenna?

"Noisy" USB connection?

I am experiencing a strange effect when the ESP32 is connected to the PC via USB. My device is receiving data via 433MHz, the receiver is connected to a GPIO with the RMT analyzing the signal. When the ESP32 is running standalone, powered via 5V, the reception is excellent. But as soon as I will con...

Partition table with app, EEPROM and SPIFFS only?

I am shying away from writing my own partition table, so I am interested if someone has one in stock that serves these conditions:
  • for DevkitC board with 4MB flash
  • no OTA
  • 2kB of EEPROM
  • 1.5-2MB app space
  • the remainder used as SPIFFS

Re: Has anyone made an RMT IR Receive library for ESP32/arduino?

It all depends on the clock divider in rmt_config. The RMT is capable of up to 4MHz AFAIK. I am using a relatively high divider of 150, giving a sampling rate of 80MHz/150=533 kHz. Even that would be about 14 times oversampling for a 38kHz signal. Oh, BTW: I am sampling a 2000bd signal, not the 433M...
