Jumjum123: Hehe, either you're Dutch or multiple languages developed the same saying :)

Re: gibberish text in terminal

Check 'make menuconfig', under components -> esp32 -> Main XTAL Frequency. The Sparkfun thing uses a 26MHz crystal, so select that instead of the 40MHz one.

Re: api calls in ISR

Essentially, all FreeRTOS calls that end in fromISR can be called from an ISR. Apart from that, no esp-idf calls, unless explicitly indicated otherwise, are guaranteed to behave themselves when called from an ISR.

Re: Trouble connecting to and flashing custom board

Could be a fair amount of things... bad solder joint somewhere, power supply issues. broken crystal... you name it.

Re: GPIO remapping issue (peripheral doesnt work on certain pins)

No idea why 12, 13 don't work (maybe a hw issue in your setup?) but 34 and 35 do not work because those pins do not have output drivers. See the datasheet/TRM for more information.

Re: PSRAM support status

Gotcha, I see the same thing here. Wondering why it did work in the PSRAM branch and not here... will investigate.

Re: Trouble connecting to and flashing custom board

- Can you check if your crystal is actually oscillating? I think the ROM should initialize the crystal oscillator, so you should at least see bits of 40MHz waveforms there. - With GPIO15 being high, the ROM should be pretty chatty on the serial port. With an empty flash, it should either boot into d...

Re: PSRAM support status

Can you see if the issue still remains if you set Component Config -> WiFi -> Type of WiFi TX buffers to 'static''? Will also do some tests here.

Re: PSRAM support status

Loboris: I'm actually surprised it succeeds at all... on closer inspection, it looks like the 80MHz clock gets shutdown somewhere, meaning the external RAM goes dead; you will have some memory retention because of the cache but that's it. Patch is coming up. Just to be sure: in components/esp32/clk....

Re: Need sample code for ILI9488 LCD on SPI Interface

It's a known bug. A few days ago, we added a bit of code that disables unused peripherals. Unfortunately, this broke SPI... We have a patch that fixes this in our internal master, but it doesn't seem to have propagated to Github yet. You can wait until it has, or temporarily revert esp-idf to commit...
