Re: deep sleep and start time

1) part of the code which is executed from RAM is copied from flash to RAM, along with .data segment (non-zero-initialized data). 2, 3) i don't think we have these measurements (this time would depend on the application being loaded), but if i will be doing something related to deep sleep I will mea...

Re: ESP32 Wroom-2 and WiFi issues

This looks like the chip browning out when doing RF calibration, which drains a lot of current. Please try connecting a power supply capable at least of 500mA.

Re: Debugging ESP32 programs on Linux using an "ESP32 Emulator Library"

We haven't started working on this yet, but I do have this on the plan for the next year. We have a new team member joining us soon (early January?), this will be one of the things he will be working on. I'm still unsure if this port should be integrated into the ESP-IDF, or be done as a standalone ...

Re: Uart2 does not work.

You need to specify some real pin number instead of UART_PIN_NO_CHANGE at least for the TXD pin. It will help if the pin you set is the same pin which you are probing with the scope.

Re: ESP32 support HWcrypto, why there are another crypto in component ?

I suppose you mean components/wpa_supplicant/src/crypto?
This is part of the source code of wpa_supplicant library, used inside the wifi stack. It is indeed possible to re-write parts of this library to make use of HW crypto APIs, this is currently in our backlog.

Re: Does the Esp32 support hardware based I2C or software bit-bang based I2C ?

Any output-capable GPIOs will work, as long as they are in the same power domain as the chip you are going to communicate with, and are not used for other functions in your design (i.e. flash, UART), and are compatible w.r.t. state at reset. I suggest you to check "ESP32 pin list" document, in parti...

Re: Wake Up from GPIO

You can also do this with the current version if you modify some source files. See this wiki for an example:

Re: Wake Up from GPIO

FYI, I'm working on other deep sleep wakeup modes now, so the following functions will be added soon-ish. These include two modes of GPIO wakeup. esp_err_t esp_deep_sleep_enable_timer_wakeup(uint64_t time_in_us); esp_err_t esp_deep_sleep_enable_ulp_wakeup(); esp_err_t esp_deep_sleep_enable_ext0_wake...

Re: What API might be used to get the state of a WiFi interface?

Yes, we have this planned, but not for the next release. For now you can use event handler function to save latest state into a variable, and then use this variable whenever you need to get the state.
