Re: Could not compile a light on 26Mhz crystal Heltec WiFi 32

Hi fasani, I think this maybe because your copy of esp-mdf is using an older version of the esp-idf that does not yet contain a fix to properly setting of the XTAL frequency from menuconfig - https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/commit/8e2856b83d2356600137d68da0b9b0398ce609a1#diff-0f7aa4f9a388f077a9...

Re: What is ESP IDF ?

Hello GeorgeFlorian1 ! ESP-IDF stands for Espressif IoT Development Framework Arduino ESP32 is a wrapper for ESP-IDF to make ESP32 easier to use for people without a background in electronics and programming. The project you described can be implemented entirely in Arduino ESP32, there is no need to...

Re: make monitor equivalent using jtag with ESP32

Hi salomonreinach, Hello again :D I like you managed to load ESP32 with JTAG without even touching a much simpler way to load it over a serial port. As you prefer to stick to JTAG, there is also a method for ESP32 monitoring without a serial. To go straight to it check documentation under https://do...

Re: Problem using Make Flash in command line

The command "make monitor" works over the serial interface. You need an extra USB dongle connected to TXD and RXD pins. To avoid multiple wires and two additional physical devices (one for JTAG debugging and one for serial logs) please consider https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp-idf/en/latest/h...

Re: Problem using Make Flash in command line

I believe the single ttyUSB0 you see is associated with olimex-arm-usb-ocd-h and works for the JTAG interface only. To flash with "make flash" you need a separate USB-to-serial interface dongle connected to the UART pins I mentioned above.

Re: Problem using Make Flash in command line

Hi salomonreinach, As you can see I'm using the olimex-arm-usb-ocd-h with JTAG. How could you explain I can flash using that command but I can't using make flash ? With "make flash" you are using serial pins U0TXD (GPIO1) / U0RXD (GPIO3) for program upload and GPIO0 to put the ESP32 into download mo...

Re: internal pull up/down

Hello georgecarlo,

Have you tried:
  1. gpio_set_pull_mode(32, GPIO_PULLDOWN_ONLY);
  2. gpio_set_pull_mode(27, GPIO_PULLDOWN_ONLY);
  3. ...

Re: Getting i2s example to work on Lyrat board

Hi audioguy, By "configure an audio codec chip" I meant running https://github.com/espressif/esp-adf/blob/ff3d3b3e71149de47e78666d4c3ee6648e55ebed/examples/get-started/play_mp3/main/play_mp3_example.c#L56-L57 Just checked play_mp3 example on ESP-LyraT V4.3 and it works properly with the headphones.

Re: Getting i2s example to work on Lyrat board

Do i need to do something different if i want to play it on headphones instead of the speaker output of the board? Thanks in advance :) Hi audioguy, Yes, you need to configure an audio codec chip on board of ESP32-LyraT. Both the headphones and the speaker are connected to this audio chip. Please t...

Re: Need help to start with ESP32 Audio Framework

So, I believe Alexa device can also be used with that framework for audio related functionality. Correct? Hi Ritesh, The Amazon Alexa functionality is on the roadmap but not yet implemented. To evaluate this functionality please check https://github.com/espressif/esp-va-sdk/blob/master/README-Alexa...
