Re: HWCrypto VS MbedTLS

Probably true since there are no other TLS libs in esp-idf (except for the fake openssl which uses mbedtls).
I'd bet on it =P

Re: HWCrypto VS MbedTLS

mbedtls is probably the easiest way, it also uses hardware acceleration(see "make menuconfig" componentconfig -> mbedtls)
I think that folder is esp32 specific, and those sources allow libraries like mbedtls to use hardware acceleration. (but thats just a guess)

Do the esp-idf examples run? You can also find hints to which line is crashing your code by using "make monitor" or manually resolving the address using addr2line. idk why but read the docs seems to be offline. This would be the link... http://esp-idf.readthedocs.io/en/latest/get-started/idf-monitor...

Re: [Newbie question] Voltage, Arduino PWM vs LED PWM vs MCPWM vs BPWM

You have to supply the l293n with 5v(4.5~7v) to power it. VSS | Logic Supply Voltage (pin 9) | 4.5 | 5 | 7V Quoted from https://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Robotics/L298_H_Bridge.pdf page 3 The chip can trigger on 3.3v logic. (if you set a logic pin to 3.3v it will see it as a 1) See: input Low Volt...

I think that pin is the pin used for the SPI Flash chip Image

Re: OTA on ESP32-WROVER Module

or like the ota example:

Code: Select all

/*an ota data write buffer ready to write to the flash*/
static unsigned char ota_write_data[BUFFSIZE + 1] = {0};
/*an packet receive buffer*/
static unsigned char text[BUFFSIZE + 1] = {0};
As a array in global.

Re: Looking to restore Arduino to HUZZAH32 Feather

it really depends on the board.
On my DOIT I can do 921600 when it's cold, when it is warm it fails 2 out of 3 times.
My Pycom lopy can handle 2m baud, 80mhz QIO flash. Hooked up on a 3m very old usb cable. And has never failed me.

Re: Looking to restore Arduino to HUZZAH32 Feather

it is as simple as building and flashing with the arduino ide. No need for the download tool

Re: MQTT SSL/TLS server problem

Did you open up port 8883 in your firewall on your server?
Do those android apps/esp32 try to verify the ssl cert? If so, can you turn that off since you have a self-signed cert (just a guess)?

You can probably run another mosquitto server on a other port without ssl encryption and see if that works.
