Re: Are there any tools to help debug watchdog timeouts

Task watchdog got triggered. The following tasks did not reset the watchdog in time:
- IDLE (CPU 0)
Tasks currently running:
CPU 0: Task

Just turned verbose back on so maybe that will give me more - seems a bit strange hoping my code craps out...

update: verbose did not provide any additional info

Re: Are there any tools to help debug watchdog timeouts

Unfortunately, no details are given in the monitor. I haven't been able to find any routines that are hanging. Was hoping there was some type of configuration flag or tool that would help identify what is hanging.

Re: Limit precision of double in json object or array

Neil, This is taking me back awhile... I was originally sending a json data array of doubles and wanted to limit the precision - the precision was not the issue but my json ended up with a bunch of zeros following the 1 decimal point. I just took a quick look at the code and at some point I switched...

Are there any tools to help debug watchdog timeouts

I've got an application that runs for days without any problems - sometimes. Other times I get watchdog timeout errors after minutes or hours and the app hangs without performing any of its functions. I've ignored this problem to date but now its time to hopefully solve. I've tried to figure out wha...

Re: Need to reduce wifi startup time and power consumption

yep, can't expect customers to mess with their wifi. I am far from a network expert but don't understand how dns caching or udp would effect this issue... hassan789, read your posts and realize that I am not the only one being impacted. that's why I was hoping that one of the espressif folks would p...

Re: Need to reduce wifi startup time and power consumption

I cannot use static IP. I am saving BSSID but haven't tried the channel. Thought I would try that tomorrow but reading other responses on the impact of (or lack of) saving the channel I wasn't holding out much for significant impact.

Need to reduce wifi startup time and power consumption

I realize that there are similar topics on the forum but not any real solutions that I've discovered - was really hoping the folks at espressif would chime in with guidance/direction/future capability... My goal is straightfoward: power on, grab some data, log to cloud, go to sleep, repeat. Powered ...

Re: What would you like to see in The Next Chip?

My real struggle with the current chip is making it function in a low-power environment. This primarily means (at least to me) the ability to run for an extended period on battery without losing the ability to interact with the system, i.e. receiving either/both wifi and ble requests, waking up and ...

BLE power consumption

Setting up a network with an ESP32 master and peripheral devices communicating to the master through ble. The peripherals need to be lower power but advertising so that they are available when polled by the master. Is there any information on current power requirements with ble only and frequent adv...

mbedtls doesn't release all resources

I'm working on https mbedtls and can't seem to recover all resources after finishing a function. I log starting freeheap before calling the routine then log at various points trying to understand where memory is being consumed. The https routine is a task. Max heap consumption is about 30k in the ta...
