Re: PSRAM as Flash

Mr kgsws_cz, I read through the technical reference ... section 26.3.2.2 - MMU - External Memory and I think you are correct. It seems that external RAM can only be mapped south of 0x4000 0000 which places it in data bus rather that instruction bus. If this is correct, then we can't seem to map to ...

Re: Insane 80MHz spi speed on TFT with SPI_DEVICE_NO_DUMMY

Well done again!

Check page ILI9341 datasheet, page 202.

There is some possibility to improve tearing by setting some registers in the ILI9341, when using SPI mode.

There are some hints here. This is the ILI9341 lib for the Raspberry, and have some useful info.

Re: Please Identify This ESP32 Device

I had the same issue with one of my board.

I solved it by installing the proper driver for the USB-UART chip. Sometimes using the windows default driver won't work.

Re: ESP32D0WDQ6 Questions

The D2W is a chip that has the SPI-FLASH put inside the same package as the ESP32 chip itself. This is somewhat strange, because in this case the flash chip is a separsate die inside the package, where the connections that you normally do externally are wired with bond wires inside the package. Ther...

Re: NEW ESP32 Dev Board, Announcement

If you pump up the board, I suggest using an STM32. In my project I'm gonna use an STM32L476RCT6. This one has 256KB ROM and 128KB RAM, and yet it's the cheapest version of this series. It's a Cortex M4, 80MHz, with USB OTG, Quad SPI (up to 40MHz), parallel interface, and available in LQFP64 package...

Re: Maximum memory allocation

I wanted to update on the heap memory allocation if anyone is interested. With the second option 'Make ram allocatable using heap_caps...' it was possible to allocate around 4Mb SPI ram I'm guessing external on Wrover. I had issues with switching to Wroom and flashing - error 'failed to init extern...
