Re: Be Warned, New VS Code Ext. along side other ESP-IDF versions

@chegewara This is what ive been trying to tell in point 3 in my previous post. Yup, you hit the nail on the head. This makes me wonder when using a PC how are we going to compile for different versions. Visual GDB allows you to make projects with all the different versions without interference from...

Re: Be Warned, New VS Code Ext. along side other ESP-IDF versions

If you have different version in other environment, build result might change. That is all I was trying to say. Just to be careful if you are using different ESp-IDF versions on the same PC. I think the problem came in from using the install tool. "esp-idf-tools-setup-2.2.exe". Not that there is an...

Re: Be Warned, New VS Code Ext. along side other ESP-IDF versions

3) i think the problem you had was because during plugin configuration you downloaded and altered esp-idf and/or xtensa toolchain, but configuring vs code plugin you can choose folder to install esp-idf and toolchain and to have few versions (IIRC it will write to PATH, so you have to be careful ab...

Be Warned, New VS Code Ext. along side other ESP-IDF versions

Well guys, This issue bit me in the rear end hard. The short version.... Don't (at least at the time of this writing) install the VS Code extension if you are using other IDE's with other ESP-IDF versions. Things will still compile but it will NOT operate as before. The Long version... (or you can j...

Re: Need Review of custom PCB design

There is a few things not quite right with it. For starters your dont have 0.1uf caps by the power pins. I would suggest reading "Hardware Design Guidelines" first. For the antenna, I would read the section: 2.1.5 RF The output impedance of the RF pins of ESP32 (QFN 6*6) and ESP32 (QFN 5*5) are (30+...

Re: MP3 Decoder cpu usage

Its not off both cores. You can further prove that by pinning it to either core 0 or core 1. Also, Core 0 (IDLE0 13) is 100%-13% = 87% idle time. Also, Core 1 (IDLE1 25) is 100%-25% = 75% idle time. So you can see it's still pretty much spending most of its time twiddling its fingers waiting for som...

Re: Still can't boot ESP32 Wroom

I really doubt its a current inrush issue. I have seen on a few boards now from different people who improperly use the onboard serial chip to control the reset and GPIO0. What I would do, its take your scope or meter and make sure that GPIO0 is bulled up to 3.3v when you plug it in. If its low at p...
