Re: Failure to provision with 4.x IDF but works with 3.3 IDF

Seems like you have downloaded toolchain for `esp32s2beta` chip. Can you please download latest toolchain for `esp32` from https://dl.espressif.com/dl/xtensa-esp3 ... d64.tar.gz?

Re: Failure to provision with 4.x IDF but works with 3.3 IDF

You will have to update your $PATH environment variable to point to /path/to/xtensa-esp32-elf-gcc8_2_0-esp-2019r2-linux-amd64/xtensa-esp32-elf/bin/ directory. echo $PATH export PATH="/path/to/xtensa-esp32-elf-gcc8_2_0-esp-2019r2-linux-amd64/xtensa-esp32-elf/bin/:$PATH" Post this just ensure that com...

Re: Failure to provision with 4.x IDF but works with 3.3 IDF

Thanks for confirmation. So this is related to same toolchain SPIRAM issue being discussed at https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/issues/3624. Fix for this is to upgrade toolchain to latest `xtensa-esp32-elf-gcc8_2_0-esp-2019r2` (ESP-IDF specific commit can be found at https://github.com/espressif/...

Re: Failure to provision with 4.x IDF but works with 3.3 IDF

Can you please try once by enabling internal memory allocation strategy for mbedtls (please refer https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/blob/master/components/mbedtls/Kconfig#L22)? I am just trying to see if it is not something related to issue mentioned at https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/issues...

Re: lwip accept => error 23 (Too many open files in system)

In case you are using ESP-IDF v3.3 (or prior) release then `lwip_close` won't actually free up socket pcb, you have to use thread safe counterpart API `lwip_close_r` assuming you are using default configuration (https://github.com/espressif/esp-lwip/blob/5d80af7d59c10b7890f0fc862e4efe807ce5fb73/src/...

Re: esp_image: invalid segment length 0xffffffff

Can you please try out suggestion from https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/issues/4080#issuecomment-538271762? This will essentially try to download simple `hello-world` application hosted on github server instance, thus we can isolate if its server setup issue (if any) or device side issue. (Inter...

Re: Keep Coaps DTLS session during deep sleep

Please refer to https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp-idf/en/latest/api-reference/system/sleep_modes.html In deep sleep mode, CPUs, most of the RAM, and all the digital peripherals which are clocked from APB_CLK are powered off. The only parts of the chip which can still be powered on are: RTC con...

Re: ESP_HTTPS_OTA failing on large bin files

As Ritesh pointed out, your partition table (from log you shared) is allocating 1M for `ota_x` partitions, you will need to customize partition table and allocate little larger space (per your upgrade binary requirement), that should help to fix the problem.

Thanks.

Re: Best way - HTTP Response Response parsing

Hi Ritu,

It might be helpful to increase `buffer_size` in http client configuration and check once. (please refer https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/bl ... ent.h#L117)

Thanks.

Re: about aws cloud ota using mqtt on esp32

Hi Jones, Default ota examples in ESP-IDF provides mechanism where update image can be fetched from HTTPS endpoint. In case of AWS, image can be hosted in s3 bucket with pre-signed url or appropriate authorisation header field. However if you would like to have more sophisticated mechanism, e.g. con...
