Re: ESP32-S2 toolchain installed. Works, suggestions to make it clearer for the user of existing IDF

Great work!
It would be possible to compile also an Arduino framework program using the new version of the toolchain?
I will try this weekend. So far if I try to upload any of my existing things with esptool 2.6 in platformio it won’t upload I guess since requires this new version of the toolchain.

Hitting the AsyncUDP receive limit receiving 1472 bytes

Is there any way to overcome this limit?

I read here in this forum that Arduino seems to have the UDP packet fragmentation support turned off.
If that's the case, is there any way to update this?
Or it will be better to use ESPAsyncUDP library?

Thanks in advance for your feedback

ESP32-S2 toolchain installed. Works, suggestions to make it clearer for the user of existing IDF

First of all a big thanks to Espressif to send me the ESP32-S2-Beta-DevKitC it's v1.2r05 I followed the steps described here: https://esp32.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=11265 And so far I have the toolchain working but I see that it's still compiling with the old g++. $ idf.py -p /dev/ttyUSB0 flash Chec...

What is the right way to pass parameters to the xTaskCreatePinnedToCore function

Hello there, I wanted to know if someone here can provide a code example about passing a pointer to xTaskCreatePinnedToCore and using in the callback function. A bit of background on this simple project. Udpx is a firmware that receives compressed JSON data using the UDP protocol to display animatio...

ESP32 Firmware to launch animations in addressable Leds

I've started a project using Neopixels to receive short UDP messages and launch fast animations. I though it may be interesting for any of you interested in UDP / Networking or animating NeoPixel addressable Leds: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/martinberlin/Remora/master/extras/img/remora-170.png...

Very interesting thanks for your code example.

Re: How to resolve the IP Address of a Mesh Light ?

Thank you very much. I've started with IDF but I'm still a newbie.

I would like to ask: Are this IDF examples also possible to use in Arduino Framework ?

How to resolve the IP Address of a Mesh Light ?

First of all excuse me for posting in this section, since this is more a general question, but I thought that in this forum secion it will address people with more knowledge that already did this. Feel free to move it if it's not adequated. I'm just experimenting sending color signals from another E...

I can be wrong, but I remember about reading about Memory in the Technical Reference Manual for the ESP32

Re: xTaskCreatePinnedToCore - task priority

I have a question regarding xTaskCreatePinnedToCore. It's possible to pass an array of bytes : // Save compressed in memory instead of simply: uint8_t compressed[compressedBytes.size()]; receivedLength = packet.length(); compressed = (uint8_t*)malloc(receivedLength); // I would like to pass this ins...
