Re: esp-wrover-kit - JTAG help please.
I'm using a olimex-arm-usb-ocd with a LoPy. I've given up debugging since it was very temperamental. I debug through print lines, and flash through JTAG now. GDBStub works though, and the backtrace is very usefull. stackoverflow detection and keeping a eye on my heapspace have helped me alot.

Re: esp-wrover-kit - JTAG help please.
I have a lot of trouble with debugging too, but that could just be because im using visualgdb(which uses an old esp-idf).
You can flash over JTAG. Visualgdb does this by default.
I posted some info about how VisualGDB does that here:

Re: A fatal error occurred: Failed to connect to ESP32: Timed out waiting for packet header
Are you sure you are in download mode? If so, do the flash reset thing with the serial terminal open. You should see something like: rst:0x1 (POWERON_RESET),boot:0x3 (DOWNLOAD_BOOT(UART0/UART1/SDIO_REI_REO_V2)) waiting for download Then close your serial connection and run the python esptool flash c...

Re: Question about esp32 Flash download through JTAG
The OpenOCD output when flashing the esp32 through jtag in VisualGDB https://pastebin.com/iJ47jQZZ The GDB output https://pastebin.com/cGiTxw1d I guess it is restoring a .bin to a specific location in memory, which results in the same end result programming the esp32. restore C:/IoT/BEASTv2/VisualGD...

Hi, I saw the same. The silicons got a new name/serialnumber uhh I mean ordering code. This blog post describes the meaning of the ordering code. http://www.cnx-software.com/2017/04/04/new-espressif-esp32-single-and-dual-core-processors-in-5x5mm-package-optional-embedded-flash-coming-soon/ The chip ...

[TW#12094] bluetooth initialization crash
I am looking at my log files and on some reboots I see a crash in the bluetooth initialization. From the backtrace I can see that bluetooth initialization is trying to take a mutex but fails. What can I do to prevent this crash? Do a check to see if the "global_int_mux" is taken? How do you do that?...

Re: How to check current project's the resource(RAM, TEXT,HEAP etc.) usage statistics,
Don't forget your 32bit aligned free space. xPortGetFreeHeapSizeTagged(MALLOC_CAP_32BIT)
VisualGDB gives you a memory utilization report after building your project. Which lists your used DATA_FLASH, INSTR_FLASH, INSTR_RAM and DATA_RAM. No idea how they do this though.
