nRF24 and Enhanced Shock Burst radio communications

Postby kolban » Fri Mar 10, 2017 5:46 pm

I am working on a project where I am driving an nRF24 from the ESP32. So far so good. While sipping coffee and reading the data sheet, a thought struck me. Does the ESP32 contain a programmable radio transmitter/receiver that can be used for protocols other than 802.11 and Bluetooth? Could we program the ESP32 to, for example, send and receive Enhanced Shockburst and interact with partner nRF24s without needing an nRF24 device itself?
