Internal_communication example needs a router?

Postby leo_espressivo » Tue May 04, 2021 1:09 pm

I have been trying to understand ESP-MESH by testing some examples. The first one I'm trying is the Internal_communication example. By doing that, I build and upload the example to a ESP32-WROOM-S2 based card, the example works correctly and send info by serial monitor, which I interpret as if the node was searching for a router to connect to.
This is some of the logout shown by serial monitoring:

Code: Select all

 I (8267) mesh: <MESH_NWK_LOOK_FOR_NETWORK>need_scan:0x3, need_scan_router:0x1, look_for_nwk_count:2
I (9847) mesh: [FIND][ch:0]AP:0, otherID:0, MAP:0, idle:0, candidate:0, root:0[00:00:00:00:00:00]<scan router>
I (9847) mesh: [FIND:2]fail to find a network, channel:0, cfg<channel:0, router:ROUTER_SSID, 00:00:00:00:00:00>
I'm in charge of creating a ESP-MESH network with some ESP32 cards but without the need of having a router, so no need to an external network, just between de nodes.
So my question are:
This example is intended to crate a network where a router is needed?
Can I create a ESP-MESH network without a roouter? If so, there's a example for doing that for the ESP-IDF?
