TUMPA and JTAG

Postby pokmo6 » Mon Jul 31, 2017 1:37 pm

Hi

I'm having a tough time trying to setup TUMPA with a ESP-WROOM-32 breakout on OSX 10.12.6, but I'm stuck with the "all ones" error:

"Error: JTAG scan chain interrogation failed: all ones"

I believe I have the wiring correct, because I get the "all zeroes" error when I ground TDO:

"Error: JTAG scan chain interrogation failed: all zeroes"

The VTAR_PWD led is lid and the VT-SEL jumper is set to pin 1 and pin 2 position (I've tried pin 2 and pin 3 as well, but to no avail). Does anyone know what I might be missing? Here's a photo of the jumper settings:

I'm running openocd using 'openocd -s ./tcl -f esp32.cfg'. Here's the full error log:

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi,

have you double checked the JTAG PIN connection? Attached you will find my cabling (esp32 DEV C).
I am not using this entry in the config:

Code: Select all

esp32 flashbootstrap 1.8

Thanks for posting your setup. Now I'm quite certain my wiring and jumper settings are correct. Perhaps my TUMPA is a dud. I'll ask csbooth and see if I can get a replacement...
