High voltage controller with ESP32 ?

Hello.
I am not sure how to put this question, but basically
I have a high voltage ( 220V ) 1 kW heater which i would like to control with ESP32, but not with a relay (i fear that too much commutations will destroy the heater), but somehow regulate it's temperature. Is it possible and how, if it is ?
