ESP32 port not being seen by computer although having Silicon Labs CP2102 Driver

Postby Zenith Fall » Wed Mar 08, 2023 1:07 pm

Hello I'm very new to ESP32 and the world of micro-controllers.

I have ESP32 with me and the Silicon Labs Dual CP2105 USB to UART Bridge: Standard COM Port
driver installed.

And the port is not still being recognized. I have no idea why and I'm asking for help.

I'll give some general details here:

- ESP32 with CP2102
- having USB cable with data link
- Windows 10
- I have added the driver manually from the Action > Add legacy hardware because it wasn't (the driver) showing up in the first place

Hello,

Have you tested another USB cable? ESP32 seems to be very sensitive with poor quality cables.

Thank you for taking your time to respond

Yes I have same issue. Tried with 3 cables and no result.

I think i should add this point as well.

- there was a uart to usb bridge controller under Other devices
- I uninstalled thinking the driver wasn't installer properly (this is a grave mistake i feel)

UPDATE

It seems the issue is actually with the cable
Do get a cable like this (url below) for the ESP to be working
