ESP32 measured wireless throughput?

What is the maximum, effective wireless throughput that anyone has measured (assuming ideal condition, LOS, short-distance, etc.)? I saw a thread (viewtopic.php?f=13&t=839) that showed that it was ~10 Mbps for TCP, which seems a lot slower than I imagine is possible with ESP32. Anyone know what may be going on here? Thanks!
