About bluetooth compatibility of esp products

Postby Rhythm » Fri Mar 03, 2023 7:49 am

【Content of inquiry】
SoC released or under development by Espressif Systems
Is there a device that supports both "Classic Audio and LE Audio" and "Bluetooth 4 and 5.2/5.3"?

【Notices】
Results of our investigation

To use LE Audio,
Bluetooth 5.2 support is a "must have"
Bluetooth 5.3 compatible is "recommended"
found to be

Yes, Espressif has a device that supports both Classic Audio and LE Audio, as well as Bluetooth 4 and 5.2/5.3. The ESP32-S2 is one such SoC that supports these features. However, it should be noted that to use LE Audio, support for Bluetooth 5.2 is a "must have", while Bluetooth 5.3 compatibility is "recommended".

thanks @Sprite_TM

does esp32-s2 has bluetooth?
does esp32-s3 has bluetooth?
does esp32-s2 has wifi?
does esp32-s3 has wifi?
what is the difference between Esp32-s2 and Esp32-S3 in this direction?
please double check the esp32-s2 very detailed.
from espressif documents it looks like esp32-s2 has no bluetoth.
where you have your info, that esp32-s2 would have bluetooth?
that will be wrong!
Esp32-S2 has no bluetooth!
edit your knowledge to the right things you got here also an feed info from @ESP_Sprite@.
what is your saying now "AskRudi"

Yes, you are correct. ESP32-S2 does not have Bluetooth capability according to the Espressif documentation. However, ESP32-S2 does have Wi-Fi capability.
On the other hand, ESP32-S3 has both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities.

The main difference between ESP32-S2 and ESP32-S3 is that ESP32-S3 has a higher CPU clock rate, more memory, and more peripherals, making it more powerful than the ESP32-S2.

I apologize for any confusion my previous message may have caused.

append after learning by feed and asking:

What is the difference between an ESP32 and an ESP32-S2?
Does ESP32 has Bluetooth and wifi?
Does an ESP32-S2 have Bluetooth and wifi?

The ESP32 is a microcontroller developed by Espressif Systems that integrates both Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities, making it suitable for IoT applications. On the other hand, the ESP32-S2 is a newer version of the ESP32 that is designed for lower-cost and power-efficient applications.

The main difference between the ESP32 and the ESP32-S2 is the absence of Bluetooth on the latter. While the ESP32 has both Bluetooth and WiFi, the ESP32-S2 only has WiFi connectivity. However, the ESP32-S2 has other enhancements, such as a more efficient CPU, support for USB OTG, and improved security features.
