Will the ESP32 chip be loaded with firmware when bought as a IC ? Will it be able to work as a bluetooth module using AT commands via UART without doing anything to it ?

The ESP32 does not have any flash in it, so it doesn't come 'preloaded' with anything. In normal use, it should be coupled with some SPI memory which contains the firmware.

1. Does it support AT Commands ?
2. Where can I get the default firmware to use it as bluetooth adapter via AT Commands ?

1. Does *what* support AT commands?
2. We are working on firmware like this. When it's done, you should be able to download it from the Espressif website or Github.

When will the firmware be available (estimated time) for ESP32 that supports AT Commands

Howdy jomon003,
If I may ask ... what are you trying to accomplish with serial driven AT commands that you can't do with an ESP8266 today?

I believe the primary notion of the ESP32 is that one writes applications that run ON the ESP32 as opposed to a secondary purpose of the ESP32 being able to be driven as an external device using Serial commands. It might be extremely useful if you could help us understand the purpose to which you would apply an ESP32 being driven by serial communications?

I wanted to use the BT feature which is not available in ESP8266.
I have an I2S data coming from an IC which is decoded as 16-bit data (audio) by FPGA, which has to be sent to Android via Bluetooth. This is the functionality I want to achieve.
