Questions about LyraT Boards

Postby tedwood » Mon Dec 03, 2018 11:23 am

I've been looking at ESP32b Audio dev boards. I can see two different versions of the Lyra:

i) The LyraTD-MSC
ii) The LyraT V4.3

What is the difference between these two boards (apart from the fact that one is round and one is rectangular)?

The original CES announcement suggests that the LyraTD-MSC will support Google Assistant. Is this true?

Hi tedwood,

There are several differences. On the hardware site this includes codec chips used, number and type of microphones, number and type of control buttons and LEDs. On the software side, from developer point of view, there are far more code examples now for the ESP32-LyraT, as drivers for this board have been open sourced first. Please see ... r/examples. Drivers and code examples for the ESP32-LyraTD-MSC are currently under development.

Regarding top level differences between boards and intended applications, I would start with "Development Board Features" section under:
- ESP32-LyraTD-MSC - ... lyratd-msc
- ESP32-LyraT - ... sp32-lyrat

More specific technical details, e.g. particular codec chips used, schematics, description of controls, etc. are in recently updated ESP-ADF repository -

As for the "CES announcement" what particular announcement do you men?

This is the link I followed: ... d9beab12c7

But it seems to make claims of support for Google Assistant that I can't see anywhere else.
