Mesh network with multiple routers

Postby tnyqu6 » Mon Nov 02, 2020 9:30 pm

Hi.

I want to use the ESP32 to set up a mesh network of 100-500 nodes in a building with multiple routers with different BSSID but the same SSID. Ideally, each node would join the mesh network with the best signal strength. If a router went down, the connected nodes would automatically join other existing nodes. Would this be handled automatically by the ESP-MESH stack? If not, is it possible to configure the firmware to do so?

Thanks,

this question is extremly relevant as the mdf creates a stable, self healing network.
however the only remaining single point of failure is the router and there should be a way to have a fallback router for un-interrupted connectivity.

how can it be provided?

I second this.

Even better, there should be load balancing across multiple routers
