Since installing Vscode extension ver 1.0.3 spiffs is not working correctly

End of last week vscode automatically updated the esp-idf extension to ver 1.0.3
Today I have tried several projects that were all working last wee and now having trouble with Spiffs Mount failing.
I do not understand how the extension could be responsible but I have not changed these projects that were having no issues with spiffs until after the upgrade.
Any help please.
I have also tried a small test project that also does not work. First time I run on any hardware the spiffs does not mount and then formats. When I restart after format complete, I get error that spiffs could not open file.
BTW: before the extension update, spiffs never had to be formatted, it always just worked.
The project is attached with the partition table and config included. Would someone please mind trying with latest extension 1.0.3 to see if it is related to that or maybe my tools installation?
