have spend DevC++ bloodshed an esp32 esp-idf support

prerelease is here
pascal src is on github
Utils, Batches and short how you must setup is here

DevC++ with ESP32 esp-idf support
  • no compiler version
  • no install need
  • portable version
you can use it for your esp-idf compiler version
see instruction for setup
  • compiler
  • utils
  • batches
  • first esp-idf template project
this is the pre release version
after testings then comes the first release

simple decompress archive file
run devcppPortable.exe
setup your language
setup your highlighting
setup your compiler, utils and batches.

let me know how you get on in this and if you have any problems to setup / run it.

next time comes the release and some future more.

best wishes

rudi ;-),

Searching for an IDE to use with C++ on ESP32, I Googled your Dev-C++ work. I use Linux, so I suppose that I am out of luck in using Dev-C++. But I would nonetheless like to know why it appeals to you for ESP32 development. Why else would you invest effort creating the support package?

Most likely I will go for Eclipse simply because so many others are using it and so might be helpful if I encounter problems. On the other hand, I have heard complaints about Eclipse. What are your thoughts on Dev-C++ vs. Eclipse? If Dev-C++ were not available, what would be your IDE choice, and why?
