Re: ESP32-LAN8720 custom board: get no IP address
Hi,
following this thread, because I am facing practically the same issue whereafter I do not get a valid IP communication established.
May I ask you what the outcome has been actually?
The link of the PHY tries to auto-negotioate and link-up link-down can be seen in repeat. I can see the MAC-address of the ESP32 when a DHCP-discover is going out, the DHCP-offer is also returned, but might not be received by the PHY/ESP32.
There is an external 50 MHz oscillator going to the ESP32's GPIO0 and the LAN8710 and the scope shows a 50 MHz waveform and seems good. nRST is triggered by a free GPIO of the ESP32 and can be also seen correctly working on the scope.

Re: ESP32-LAN8720 custom board: get no IP address
sorry for not updating the group here. We left out the LAN8720, used an IP101 Phy controller, what have an own oscillator. It still needs to isolate the strap pins at boot time, particular GPIO0. Our schematic is open source, EsPiff on GitHub, you can see there the details

You can also try to run https://github.com/espressif/esp-eth-dr ... phy_tester There is automated test which tests various types of loopbacks and so helps to isolate the issue. The tool is still in development so any feedback would be great.
