ESP32-S3-Zero not enough power for WiFi?

Postby marnold » Thu Dec 19, 2024 12:33 pm

I'm playing with the following board https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/ESP32-S3-Zero using the latest CircuitPython 9.2.1. When I try to connect to a WiFi network using manual or automatic methods https://docs.circuitpython.org/projects ... thods.html, the board resets and enters into the safemode with the following message:
Power dipped. Make sure you are providing enough power.
The board has nothing connected to it and is powered via USB-C. Tried different cables, power adapters and even a powerbank with no success. Only rarely it is able to connect to my WiFi access point.

It is unlikely that the board is faulty, because the second one behaves in the same way.

Anyone here had success with connecting the board to a WiFi network?

Any recommendations on how to debug the problem?
