ESP32-S3-Mini-1 38 gpio needed - efuses

Postby jema8513 » Mon Oct 20, 2025 9:26 am

I'm developing a new project based on this module ESP32-S3-Mini-1.

I need 16 input GPIO, 16 Output GPIO, and 6 GPIO lines to a W5500 ethernet moule, means a total of 38 GPIO's.

I don't need USB, neither JTAG, just UART0 for first program loading and then later by OTA or UART0 just in case of ethernet failure.

Which GPIO's would you advise me to use as inputs and/or outputs taking care of straping pins ?

Are there any efuses that could be fused to free some GPIO's like USB, GPIO 45 (Flash Vdd), etc. and to avoid boot log printing ?

Thanks

There simply aren't that many pins available. Shift registers are pretty cheap.

But in the module datasheet says that there are 39 GPIO ¿?

I recosider my needs and actually I need 37 GPIO, 6 for W5500, 16 Out, 15 In, and there are still 2 free for UART or USB, isn't it ?

Any advise ?
