Has anyone used this new product from Espressif Systems? I purchased three units from AliExpress that are TZT ESP32-C6 dev modules.
Despite trying several different boards in Arduino I cannot upload a sketch. The USB type C cable I am using works perfectly on ESP32 D1 modules so I am sure it's not the connection.
I have read the troubleshooting.html and have tried the Boot button but still cannot upload a sketch.
Here is what I get as an error:
Sketch uses 957058 bytes (73%) of program storage space. Maximum is 1310720 bytes.
Global variables use 40220 bytes (12%) of dynamic memory, leaving 287460 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 327680 bytes.

Note: This error originates from pySerial. It is likely not a problem with esptool, but with the hardware connection or drivers.

ESP32-C6 Super Mini
Re: ESP32-C6 Super Mini
Note that while the ESP32 chips on them are, these boards are not manufactured by Espressif. In which way did you try the boot button? The proper procedure is to press and hold boot, then momentarily press and release reset, then release boot, then try to upload. You may need to press reset again after uploading to get into the program you flashed.
Re: ESP32-C6 Super Mini
Thanks Sprite. Yes I tried that method several times. Hold the Boot button, press/release Reset button and release Boot button. That method changes the USB Com port from 3 to 10. Also tried the method suggested by Espressif that is to hold the Boot button down until upload is completed. Neither of these methods worked.
Re: ESP32-C6 Super Mini
Can you try another computer, or another OS (e.g. Linux, a live boot stick or something) on the same computer? The reason that your ESP32-D1 works may be because it uses a different USB-serial method (external chip vs internal USB-serial-jtag) and your computer may react differently on that
Re: ESP32-C6 Super Mini
Thanks Sprite. I only have one computer running Windows 11. If I cannot readily and easily upload sketches to the ESP32-C6 Super Mini then I will abandon their use. I don't want to spend extra time in trying to upload a sketch via a different operating system. I have ordered three WaveShare ESP32-C6-Mini dev boards from Core Electronics. It will be interesting to see if I have the same problem uploading a sketch or if these unit upload easily.
