Hi,
Just wondering if anyone using the ESP32 in production has experience with running large volumes of these in a production environment, and if you had any QC issues with the module itself.
We recently ran a short run (only 100 modules) and I had one faulty module with an internal short circuit on the SPI flash lines. It worked through programming (because I was only programming with the SPI in DIO mode), but failed to boot in QIO mode because two extra lines were shorted.
I could confirm this from outside the module by testing the pins with a multi-meter, so I got our production team to pop off the shield and I can see two adjacent pins shorted on the ESP micro.
I'm a bit surprised this wasn't picked up in testing or even visual inspection. I love the module in all other respects... just never seen a failure this simple in any other modules we use in production and it makes me a bit nervous.
Here is the part I bought (Sourced from Digikey so should be legitimate!):

Hi,
1 of 100 module ! that's 1% and it can be a big issue when doing batches of multiple thousands of units.
You should report this to ESP32 production department to investigate the source of the faulty device.
