ESP32-S2/S3 'mini' module flash size

Postby dmaxben » Thu Jan 07, 2021 1:38 pm

Will the ESP32-S2 (and upcoming S3) mini modules ever be offered with more than 4MB of flash built in?

I know the regular "full size" ESP32-wroom modules offer 4MB, 8MB, 16MB.....I was wanting to know if we can expect larger flash sizes in the "mini" modules. :)

Any update on availability of the ESP32-S3 mini?

Not sure what the plans are, but if you need larger flash in your modules for mass production, you can always contact sales@espressif.com for a quote on a custom run. We have pretty reasonable MOQs for that, if memory serves. (Suggest you wait until the 'stock' -S3-mini modules hit the market first, obviously.)

Right but the mini modules use FIP chips so it is not an easy change.

Ah, I forgot about that, mind was still on the Wroom. Regardless, when the time comes your best bet probably is to mail sales@espressif.com.
