ADF VOIP - flashing .ino files

Hi, I'm trying to get the adf voip example working but I'm failing at the point of flashing the audio-esp.bin file. I'm running this from the VSCode terminal and from within the \esp-adf\esp-idf\components\esptool_py\esptool directory, as trying to set and reference the $ADF_PATH is also constantly failing. The command I'm running is....

esptool.py --chip esp32 --port COM8 --baud 921600 --before default_reset --after hard_reset write_flash -z --flash_mode dio --flash_freq 40m --flash_size detect 0x210000 ../components/audio_flash_tone/bin/audio-esp.bin

I've verified the existence of the audio-esp.bin file in the directory stated. When I run the command, all I get is a brief flash of an empty command window and then nothing else happens. No errors or any sort of log as to what's happening.

Could someone shed some light on it and give me some guidance as I'm not greatly experienced in using ESP via VSCode?
