Unified Provisioning Security

Is there some way to configure unified provisioning to use encryption for Wifi credentials storage in NVS? The documentation only mentions transport level security.
I flashed the wifi_prov_mgr example on my ESP32 and used the BLE Provisioning App to configure Wifi. Then I downloaded the content of the flash memory and searched for my Wifi credentials. And I found them in clear text.
This is not usable for a device that will be residing outdoors.
