Espressif ESP32C3 RUST DevKit - Bad hardware production batch, or is it a design mistake?

Hey, not got any traction in the rust forum category, so bringing this question to the hardware category instead.

Just got an espressif esp32c3 Rust devkit, but it doesn't fit standard 2.54mm male header pins in the holes.
Instead only thin stamped metal plate pins fit like those on Stacking Header pins (same pin spacing but 1/3 of cross sectional area).
The drilled holes are clearly below tolerance.
Can anyone confirm if this is a known problem, or if it was possibly just a bad batch?
There is no official contact method for espressif in this regard (maily due to having to select a product from the dropdown that doesn't list the rust devkit), the same goes for the retailer lacking a method for contacting Espressif, and I was advised by the retailer to reach out on the ESP32 forums.
The only info I have is a relabelled anti-static bag, with C19379-001 and 2025-04-24 listed in addition to the retailers info.
