Hello,

I'm new on this forum. My name is Pierre, 44yo and getting back to the electronic after few years. I create a prototype with an ESP32 Pico D4.

On my project I need:
- I2C
- SPI4 wires (for a display)
- I have 5 switches
- I need bluetooth last gen if possible.
- able to have an external memory extension if needed

I realise that the ESP32 pico D4 is end of life and I will be please to upgrade to the last soc with a lot of memories, faster etc..
I think that the best for me will be the ESP32-PICO-V3-02 but can I use a memory extension as well ?

But perhaps there is even better ? I'm looking as well for the ESP32-S3

I would like to take the latest generation to not be limitated anymore in term of production or in term of performance specially with memory etc...

ESP32-PICO-V3-02 is a compact SiP with in-package flash & PSRAM (typical 8 MB flash + 2 MB PSRAM). It’s convenient but is not intended to be expanded with external PSRAM .The V3 SiP already contains the memory and is not designed to attach extra PSRAM chips.

ESP32-S3 (module variants like WROOM/WROVER/TinyPICO style modules) is excellent choice if you want more memory headroom and external memory options: S3 supports larger external flash and PSRAM module variants (and there are S3 modules with 8–16 MB flash and 2–8 MB PSRAM or even OPI PSRAM options). The S3 also adds useful CPU features (vector instructions for ML workloads) and plenty of GPIO for your switches + SPI + I²C.
