My motor isn't working properly.

Hi everyone, I'm working on an open-source 3D printer as a small university project. I'm encountering some problems; my motor isn't working properly, either vibrating in place or not turning at all.
I'm using a Nema 17 motor with an A4988 stepper driver and an Arduino Mega 2560.
I previously searched online for how to correctly connect the Tx and Rx terminals because I thought that was the problem, but now, even when I'm powering the motor separately with the Arduino, power supply, and stepper driver, it still doesn't work.
How can I get my motor to work properly?
