Hi forum, Hi devs,
Please let me share with you qemu-esp32-wireless:
A headless, deterministic emulation of the ESP32's complete wireless stack that runs the real, unmodified Espressif blobs, not stubs or reimplementations. Where existing ESP32 emulators leave the radios as no-ops, this one models the silicon closely enough that the actual closed-source firmware runs and behaves as it does on a real chip.
Most of this work is build on the groundwork of others. AI played a major role in the reverse engineering and code generation phases. It was not easy - but it turned out surprisingly well.
I invite you to check it out:

P.S. I won’t have time to maintain qemu-esp32-wireless, so if you like it — clone/adapt/adopt it please!
Have a great day!

During this work did you create any documentation on MMIO registers?
"Reverse-engineered and built in cooperation with Claude Opus 4.8." ---> pretty hard for humans to maintain.
