ESP32 C6FH2 Chip Certification CE

Postby WadoAdi » Mon Feb 24, 2025 4:28 pm

Hi All,
I have developed a "product" that uses the WaveShare ESP32 C6 Zero board, this board is not certified in its own right. the board uses the ESP32 C6FH2 Chip, my question is from all the certification documents which ones apply to this chip, or are all the C6 chips covered by the same certification? do they all hold the CE mark?

Thanks in advance for any help...

Hello, for connected applications, CE certification includes safety, electromagnetic compatibility and RF. The first two points depend on your design, as for RF, if you use an Espressif CE certified module, you may still want to perform the test of the whole project because as opposed to FCC, the CE compliance of the whole is not inherited from the parts. Also bear in mind that starting August, the CE RED compliance will include cyber security,.
Last, to my knowledge, only fully functional RF modules can be CE RED certified, because the RF characteristics depend on the whole circuit, including the antenna.
