Widespread ESP_RST_WDT Resets, Likely Multiple Root Causes

We’re observing esp_reset_reason() == ESP_RST_WDT across many of our ESP32 devices, which suggests that the reset isn’t coming from a task or interrupt watchdog. There are multiple possible causes for this behavior. In addition, I found a bug report where a brown-out reset was wrongfully reported as ESP_RST_WDT instead of ESP_RST_BROWNOUT. Given how common this issue is in our devices, I’d like to understand which watchdog or reset path is truly responsible. Any ideas on how to reliably diagnose or distinguish between possible reset sources?
