Hi Im new to this and i have an issue where i have a ESP32, im trying just a simple program to display temperature on a HD44780 Blue display with little success. Im not really sure where im going wrong but i am able to upload the program to the ESP now with no obvious failures.

Is there a way to read the internal goings on within the device to know what if anything are working
I am unable to program the ESP32 with it wired in situ sadly so have to program it via usb alone then plug it into a card able to carry the connections, the screen is lit and blue but no text
I could purchase another screen but my guess is that the program or library for the HD44780 is incorrect.. i can post the program but here is a link to it
